The 2025 Bachelor Cinema graduates reflects the richness and diversity of film professions taught at HEAD – Geneva. Screenings and presentations took place on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 June 2025, in front of an international jury composed of filmmaker Klaudia Reynicke, writer-director Callisto McNulty, and programmer and distributor Florian Fernandez.

Eleven directing graduates, along with three graduates in cinematography, sound and editing, are now taking flight, diplomas in hand!

Together, the fourteen graduates created powerful and moving short films. Singular in style, their works reflect the diversity of perspectives that HEAD – Geneva’s Cinema Department actively encourages and nurtures.

Four students received their diploma with honours from the jury. Eleven graduated in directing, one in editing, one in sound, and one in cinematography, the Bachelor’s programme’s new specialisation. Several films will have their premieres at international festivals. We’ll share updates here and on our social media channels.

RÉMINISCENCE by Ira Melnichenko received the Résonnance Prize from Masé Studios for Best Sound. Fondation Leenards awarded two prizes: one to RÉMINISCENCE by Ira Melnichenko, and another to PIES AL REVÉS by Elodie Arpa. Finally, Color Grade awarded the Tremplin Prize for Best Cinematography to NO VEÍA LOS COLORES by Lézio Schiffke-Rodriguez (cinematography: Gaétan Carron, sound: Louis Lamarche).

Congratulations to all our students for their remarkable journey!

Synopsis
Nothing comes out. Everything boils inside. This film gives a voice to Alba, a young girl who grew up alongside a sick mother. It gives space to someone we usually see from afar, without really knowing how she manages. The one who fades away next to her mother and the illness. A sketch of a relationship between a daughter and her mother. This film is an ode to cathartic art, blending photography, painting, and animation. Each medium used serves as a key to better understand this unfinished relationship.
