The Film Department of HEAD - Geneva is proud to announce a new partnership with the FILMAR en América Latina Festival by inviting Mariano Llinás to the 23rd edition of the Geneva festival. In addition to presenting his film Historias Extraordinarias, the Argentine director will give a workshop on acting with film students.

A selection of films made during the Grand Atelier in Mexico with Carlos Reygadas in 2020 will also be screened during this edition. FILMAR en América Latina is the most important festival dedicated to Latin American cinema and culture in Switzerland.

Historias extraordinarias de Mariano Mariano Llinás

Witnessing a situation that is beyond him, X panics and kills a man. Elsewhere, Z is hired to oversee a small branch in the countryside and investigates his predecessor. Meanwhile, H embarks on a trip along a river to take pictures of monoliths. X, Z and H are the protagonists, without names or pasts, of three missions revealed little by little, which form three superimposed stories.

Screenings on November 20 at 3:30 pm and November 28 at 4:30 pm at Fonction:Cinéma.

This is an opportunity to discover the region, to meet the inhabitants and to make short films on the director’s land.
