Orsola Valenti

Orsola Valenti is an editor. After graduating in translation from the University of Geneva, she studied semiology at the Faculty of Letters in Geneva. Her interest in visual language then led her to editing, which she has been practicing since 1994, working on both fiction and documentary films, classic and essay.

Between 2008 and 2013, she wrote and directed the short film series 6/6, inspired by the solos choreographed by Cindy Van Acker.

Since 2008, she has been a guest lecturer with students at HEAD-Geneva. Since 2015, she has been a lecturer at ECAL (École Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne), where she introduces students in the photography department to documentary practice and supervises the editing of their diploma films (bachelor and master).

Orsola has worked on Dom (2024) and Ostrov (2021) by Svetlana Rodina and Laurent Stoop, Full Tank (2023) by Julia Bünter and Benjamin Bucher, Way Beyond (2021) by Pauline Julier, The Mushroom Speaks (2021) by Marion Neumann, Cavales (2021) and Les Îles de Brissogne (2018) by Juliette Riccaboni. She has mounted Michele Pennetta’s ‘A iucata (2013), Pescatore di corpi (2016) and co-edited Il mio corpo (2020).
