Evgenia Alexandrova

Evgenia Alexandrova is a director, screenwriter, director of photography, camera assistant, and operator. Born in 1988 in Russia, she first studied management at Saint Petersburg State University before pursuing a Master’s degree at ESSEC in Paris. She later turned to cinema and joined La Fémis in the cinematography department in 2012.

After gaining experience as a director of photography, she directed the documentary Svalbard in 2016, followed by the short film Le Retrait des Troupes in 2017, produced by La Fémis and Arte. In 2020, she directed Wanderers, produced by Aurora Films and selected at La Cabina, followed by Le Télescope d’Einstein in 2021.

A recognised director of photography, she has worked on numerous fiction films and documentaries, including Mi Iubita Mon Amour by Noémie Merlant (Cannes Film Festival 2021), Machtat by Sonia Benslama (ACID, Cannes 2023), and Sans Cœur by Nara Normande and Tião (Venice Film Festival 2023), which earned her the Best Cinematography award at the Rio Festival 2023. In 2024, she won the CST Award for Best Young Technician at the Cannes Film Festival for Les Femmes au Balcon by Noémie Merlant.
