These are women and men filmed by the Red Cross in the four corners of the world and at different times. They come from Japan, Algeria, Cambodia and Nepal. In the selected and cropped images we can see the hard work of these post-colonial war victims. Other images from Morocco show women working in a shrimp factory in Tangier, or a mobile butcher filmed during the sheep festival. The work, they did not ask for. In reality, they have to rebuild their future at the expense of their physical and psychological health, their skin, their bones and their back. From the film Sur la planche by Leïla Kilani, Badia’s voice seems to guide and coach all these workers.
