Philbert Aimé Mbabazi

Born in 1990 in Rwanda, Philbert Aimé Mbabazi started making films in 2010. In 2015, he joined HEAD Geneva and graduated in 2017. His school films The Liberators, Versus and Keza Lyn have been screened in festivals such as Visions du Réel in Nyon, Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, Uppsala, Oberhausen and Tampere Film Festival. He currently runs Imitana Productions, a production company in Kigali, which produces films from the young Rwandan filmmaking scene. Philbert Aimé Mbabazi has been selected for the Locarno Filmmakers Academy in 2019 and the Berlinale Talents in 2020.
