Julie-Yara Atz

Julie-Yara Atz is a Swiss-Syrian actress and director. While studying at HEAD, she regularly travels to Lebanon to film her documentary Leaving Syria: long live the youth, which premiered in Telluride in 2017. She then moved to London, where she pursued acting studies at the Giles Foreman Centre for Acting. She is currently represented by Byron’s Management and recently appeared in the BBC and ITV series Shetland VI in the recurring role of Salma Nassan. She is writing her first feature film while completing her Masters in Cultural Studies at SOAS.
