Alberto Martín Menacho
Born in 1986 in Madrid, Alberto Martín Menacho graduated in Visual Arts from the Haute École d’art et de design - HEAD in Geneva. In 2015, he directed Pata negra, his first short film. In 2018, Mi amado, las montañas, was shown at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. Alberto was an artist member of Casa de Velázquez (2021-22), Académie de France in Madrid. His first feature film, Antier noche (2023), was presented in international competition at Visions du Réel. It was awarded the Prix bernois du cinéma in 2024.
With artist Carmen Ayala Marín, he co-directed the film El ensayo (2025). His work has been exhibited in art centers, museums and film festivals, including the Musée Photo Elysée in Lausanne, the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Collection Lambert in Avignon, C3A Córdoba, FIDMarseille, Doclisboa, Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis and the San Sebastián International Film Festival.
